All-Time Braves team... (CBS Sports)

I'm sure there are a few Braves fans around...

Overall, strong pitching thanks to the glory years of the last 15 years. Before it's all said and done, all five will (should) be in the Hall-of-Fame. Offensively? Actually, not really that overwhelming... Especially given the the franchise has been around since 1871. But you could probably point right back to winning a World Series every 40 years a good indicator of overall lineup thought out the history of the Braves. Hammerin' Hank was indeed awesome - for many years, but in all his years: only one World Series. Better pieces around him might have made a ton of difference.

Who's missing here?

I'll agree with the author about choosing Jones over Murphy in center on defense alone. Jones' range was unreal when he was in his prime.

I'd put Furcal in at short over Menke, if for no other reason than defense. I'll give up some production at the plate with my short stop in order to get someone who will suck up grounders and nail the throw to first.

I never was much of a Lonnie Smith fan, but that might be because of him falling for that fake throw in the 1991 World Series more than anything else.

I can't say that I have seen them all but I have a Warren Spahn baseball card from 1959.
