Panthers viewing options Thursday

Unread post by dp42828 » Tue Sep 18, 2012 1:38 pm

Obviously, the Panthers are playing the Giants on the NFL network. Will the game be televised in the Triad?

Yeah, I've got TWC, I wonder if we'll get the game on channel 2 as usual?

Nope - they only have the rights to pre-season games - :(

Local markets do have the right to televise the games that are on the NFL network, but I'm not sure if the Triad would be local enough. I can't remember what we got when I lived in Winston and had the same problems.
Give 'em hell!

I suggest Kickbacks if you're in Greensboro. Best sports bar there IMO

Channel 9 in Charlotte is the only "local" station that will braodcast the game. It irks me that the Triad is local enough to be blacked out but not local enough to be able to show this game on an area station. It doesn't matter that much to me as I have season tickets but is just the principle of things... :?

It's only on WSOC because it's on NFLN. They do kind of a round robin when Panthers games have been shown on NFLN (which is not very often) since it's not available in many places in the Charlotte market. Last time they were on NFLN WBTV showed the game. Time before that it was WCCB (usual station), and the time before that it was on WJZY. Guess it is 9's turn.

I feel like I'm watching our game against The Citadel again. Panthers defense really sucks.
