49 years ago today, Bob Dylan set the Newport Folk Festival on its ear when he played "Like a Rollin' Ston'e" and "The times they are a changiin" on an electric guitar--signifying his move away from strictly acoustic guitar folk music to Rock & Roll. The Newport crowd gave him mixed messages' but his mind was made up. And you know the rest of the story.

I saw him in Greensboro about 1978-79. Got a few tickets for people in my class (back when you had to go pick them up). One of the people I purchased one for I married about a year later, almost 34 years later we're still a couple and still listen to Dylan off and on.
