Dolly, although having chosen to never have children of her own, has nevertheless helped millions of children around the world. Her Dolly Parton Imagination Library has done just that. Most of North Carolina Non-Profit Partnerships for Children participate in that project.

For details on this project and how to participate if you have or know of kids in need of books, usually on their particular reading level, see the following link:

Re: Dolly Parton-Why She Chose to Forego Motherhood
I am sure different handlers can coach a celebrity to be "Down to earth" in interviews, and though I am not a fan of most country music I have always appreciated her. She does seem authentic in all of her artificial parts. She makes it work in a real way.
I remember an interview with Stevie Nicks, and this might have been about a decade ago. It was later in her career and she mentioned what she gave up for her career, and she mentioned not having kids. It was a print article so my voice was reading the words but I always took what was in print with a bit of sadness. It seemed she said it with a bit of regret that is was not possible for her to have the career she had and kids. Then again coke was her baby for most of the 80s.

This is my very generic signature added to each post.

As with myriads of other entertainers, athletes and politicians. NO ONE is immune.
