Just waiting to hear Moore, Satterfield, and Jackson doing the call in thing and thought I'd listen to a few tunes in the interim. Didn't know I was going to have to listen to rap crap. I live within strong signal strength of dozens of rap stations so what the hey?

You didn't really have to listen to it, just wait till the show started.

No kidding. I just wanted it on in the background so I wouldn't get busy and miss it.

What general community do you live in to be able to get WKBC? I thought you lived around Asheboro for some reason and I can't image the signal getting to that area. I lose the signal in the car right at the Forsyth County line with very few exceptions.
Then again you have mentioned Charlotte newspapers and the signal does get to Mecklenburg County from my understanding.

I was going to do that callback and then deleted it after I typed it out.. I was afraid the humor would be lost. Wasted a good joke. Damn it.

I one time was able to listen to an App basketball game on WKBC in the parking lot of the Gaffney outlets.

After the Campbell game break and heading down the mountain I had the game and post game show on until just a mile or two from my house it seems in McLeansville. It was late of course and static filled but still good enough to listen to. I had never picked up the stations that close to home. When I lived off Randleman Rd a few years ago it seems I could almost get something.

I believe WKBCs signal runs North and South. I live 35 miles East of Charlotte. I can also pick it up coming South on Highway 49 heading toward New London some of the time. At home I have an excellent radio that has a fine tuning feature. It is a Grundig S350DL which I found on eBay for a reasonable price. It runs on AC and has switchable C cells as well as AA cells as back ups.
When in Asheboro, I have to move to certain spots in the driveway to pick it up in my car.

Good link. When I used to spend a great deal of time in Roaring River, they signed off as " The 100,000 Watt Blow Torch of the Yadkin Valley."

There you go. I was not terribly off base on your location.
