Cyber Monday

Good afternoon gents!

For those of you who follow me on twitter, you probably saw me post something similar to what I'm about to say. Or perhaps you didn't. I only have about 200 followers, or so, on Twitter (shame on you for not being one of them! @apphoops) and of those 200 strong, not everyone is on Twitter every waking moment of every day. The traffic here is much more consistent so allow me to get this out there to the masses so that I may reap the benefits.

Once again this year, I missed out on an event fondly known, in that of Corporate America, materialistic society and general society, as Black Friday. And, once again, I have missed out on this event for a couple of reasons. One reason is for the sheer fact that I don't care about Black Friday and the other, and definitely the most important, is that I don't want to miss out on all the Christmas Rehearsal Dinner (aka Thanksgiving) leftovers that the rest of my relatives (or wife's relatives) will undoubtedly stake their claim in for each meal. I deeply care about those leftovers. If you're wondering why, then clearly you are either A: a vegetarian / PETA member or B: shopping on Black Friday. I don't feel the need to justify my love of these leftovers so I will move on.

I'm not a big proponent of waking up at the crack of dawn to wait in a line for discounted objects at department stores even if the prices are too good to be true. However, I am a fan of buying things that I want for cheaper than normal. This is why Cyber Monday and I are perfect for each other. Now, I wouldn't say that I'm super materialistic, but I do like brand names specifically when these brand names can supply me a better TV for my living room at a discounted cost. What can I say, I like an optimal watching experience for App football / basketball and other events and my wife is a big fan of optimal watching experience for Grey's Anatomy and reruns of Christmas Vacation on ABC Family all month. So it's a win-win.

Here's what I'm getting at. If anyone happens to see a deal online for a TV upgrade ( preferably 45-50" +) then let us know! Or if you see any other deals that are worth sharing, let us know those too!

Since I feel like I'm asking a ton, I'll reciprocate. I'm a big fan of a company called Mountain Khakis. If you haven't heard of them, then you should do some research. They are a clothing company that make pants or other outerwear (shirts, coats, etc) that are specifically designed for the outdoors. A perfect company for App grads / fans such as ourselves. Today they're offering 25% off and free shipping for all orders.

Don't say I didn't help ya! I'll look forward to any deals that may, or most likely won't, be posted in response.

Cheers!

Pro tip: Don't bury the lead. Had to stick with you a long time on that one. ;)

For those who didn't - let AppHoops know if you see any good deals on TVs.

Don't know what you're looking for beyond size (i.e., budget? Smart TV required?), but I assume you've checked the big retailers. From a quick glance, Best Buy and HH Gregg have some pretty good deals on various brands and models.

Also, if you happen to have a warehouse club membership (i.e., Costco, BJ's or Sam's Club) or know someone who could let you use theirs, definitely check those out, as they always have some good TV deals (year-round, not sure about special Cyber Monday deals).

$879 for a 55" Samsung 4k. Price is shown in cart. Free shipping I think.

Good tip! I always forget about HH Gregg and those big warehouses. I should probably become a member to some of those.
