Hotels in Atlanta
I'm heading to a Braves game in late May and need a hotel. Any recommendations for somewhere decent? I don't want to spend over $150-200, if possible. I'm not opposed to driving or taking MARTA to the game, and don't want to be in a crime ridden area. Any thoughts?

Re: Hotels in Atlanta
I think you could find a pretty wide variety of prices if you search in buckhead or the Perimeter areas. You can easily catch the MARTA trains from either of those spots. Buckhead is closer, but its likely more expensive. There are a lot of great restaurants and shopping at either place. Look at the MARTA website to see the route. There are also a lot of places in the centennial park area, and you could go see the CFB hall of fame or some of the other things there. It's a little farther walk to get to marta from there. If you drive, buy a parking pass when you buy your tickets. You can see a map on the Braves site. I usually park in the Orange lot and if you get there fairly early and it's not a packed game you can park fairly close. Have fun!

I like the Marriott on 14th street. Prices are good, MARTA is close as well as several good eating places.

I've stayed at the Georgia Tech Hotel and Conference Center a few times and have been very satisfied. It's located in midtown and close to the ballpark (10min). It's relatively cheap for the location I think, around $143 a night.

Agree with both of the first 2 comments here. Anything in Midtown is good, and close to Marta, same with Centennial Olympic Park area and Buckhead.
Also - if you haven't ever looked at Air B&B, I recommend checking that. You can usually rent out a loft or apartment for the same as a hotel room, and pick your neighborhood...
