This has been *out there* for a while; and now is reaching an ugly end. Disgusting behavior from individuals who knew, or should have known, better than to cheat; but caved in to the temptation of $$$. Wonder if they think it was worth it?

Proud triple-degree App grad--Classes of '66, '70 and '81.
If it happens to the Apps, it happens to me!

You and I have been in this business long enough to know that the impetus behind all this was $$$: the feds telling states how to run education (NCLB), states telling local districts what to do (Common Core), all the mandated standardized testing, the teacher/principal evaluations based on student performance on said tests. The pressure to succeed and keep their job was tremendous.asu66 wrote:This has been *out there* for a while; and now is reaching an ugly end. That being said they were still wrong, guilty, tried and convicted as they should have been. IMO the whole thing smears educators across the board.
We don't slide at Appalachian State. It's a sign of weakness.

20 years is ludicrous. Firing should have been enough. Hell, child molesters, armed robbers, parents who assault teachers, school administrators who embezzle money, et.al. don't get 20 years.asu66 wrote:This has been *out there* for a while; and now is reaching an ugly end. "FTR, NewApp is an old friend of mine who used to post on the old rivals board. We were room mates at App back in the day until he transferred out to Cow College to pursue a degree in textile enginnering." -JCline
But I'll leave it at that. I've been immature today
