Let me be the first MMB'er to wish everybody a Happy 4th of July tomorrow. Be careful with the fireworks and don't eat too much Que.
FWIW:
I heard on NPR today that the Declaration of Independence was actually signed on July 2nd and that it went to the printers, Congress, or whatever on the 4th.
If I ever knew that, I had forgotten it.

Re: Happy Independence Day
Actually, the 2nd Continental Congress voted for independence on July 2. In fact, John Adams thought that we would celebrate the 2nd and not the 4th. The document was approved on the 4th and only signed by Hancock, the others signed it in August.
