Make it three in a row for Klinnsmann & Company. They advanced into the Copa semi-finals with Thursday PM's 2-1 win over Ecuador.

USA plays again Tues. night against an opponent TBD by tonight's contest between Argentina & Venezuela. This evening's clash can be seen @ 10 pm ET on FX. Trivia: In 21 games against Venezuela since 1956, Argentina is 20-1. In this tourney, Argentina has earned clean sheets in every match but one. Venezuela has matched that stat. This should be a war but bet against ARG at your own peril.

And we will get Yedlin back but lose Jones Bedoya and Wood. After seeing Messi in the 2nd half of the last game I think we are in for a tough match. As usual I will be at Hooligans(Charlotte) with all my American Outlaw people even cthough Im 30,years older than most.

What is the rhythmic chant during the Ecuador game - where they were clapping with their arms over their heads - the clapping becoming faster? - really liked that!!! ---

The game was in Seattle and the Seattle Sounders fans have been known to do that. The capo (section leader) has a drum which he beats twice so everyone does it in unison. It's called the Boom Boom Clap.

Iceland fans at Euro 2016 have also been doing it. Hungary picked up on it and when the two teams played a couple days ago, there were just going back and forth all match with the Boom Boom Clap.

Euro is much more enjoyable to watch for me. Of course watching Team USA is first preference, no matter what tournament. But as a whole Euro is much more entertaining. Better skilled players as a whole, not as many cards (Likely because of less physical play), and far less diving.

For those who watch Soccer - (I watch the World Cup, Olympics, America's Cup - not MLS) - can anyone fill me in on why I always hear how good Michael Bradley is and in the aforementioned competitions I have seen him do nothing ??? - thanks ---

Bradley has been terrible in the COPA. Our midfield got dominated by Argentina because we gave away 44 passes. Normally i am a Bradley fan but he was not up to snuff in this Tournament. Having said that Argentina makes anyone look bad. Guzan was tentative in goal and Wondolowski is a hack that should not be on this team. We have offensive tools but they are wasted if our midfield sux.......

We missed Wood Jones and Bedoya. Yedlin played well and i like his speed on offense not defense.

Seems the experts agree with Rek - ratings 10-1 with 10 being highest and 1 being lowest ---

"DF Michael Bradley, 3.5 -- Sloppy with the ball, turning over possession quite a bit across 90 minutes. Set piece service was poor."

I saw Bradley play with TFC against Portland earlier this year. He was ineffective then and looked like he didn't want to run.

If he were in the NFL draft, I think he would be labeled as having "stiff hips without much fluidity in his movements."

Criticism is warranted of a player, great stats to back your opinion, I was wrong.

What a messy affair that ARG v. USA match was. Make that MESSI; as in Lionel Messi, now ranking in most knowledgeable FĂștbol minds as the world's best player. Our US team was damaged goods from the match's first touch with three stalwarts suspended, but it wouldn't have made that much difference if they'd been available. The US side didn't manage a single shot--not one!

ARG was/is on a mission to prove that its team is the world's top national team. Messi's always on a mission.

Well, the US has the consolation match against Colombia up next; and then the remainder of the qualifying rounds for World Cup '18. Jurgen has a few days under 24 months to rebuild USMNT before WC Group play begins in Russia (June 14, 2018). That is, if Jurgen is still around then; and if USA manages to qualify. Neither is assured by any stretch of the imagination.

The Messi free-kick goal was maybe the best I have ever seen - I like watching him play - as you said, he seems to always be on a mission - and he doesn't come off as a "pretty-boy, all about me" as Ronaldo does ---

Messi had a similar spectacular goal from a free kick in an earlier game. He is special.
