He held dual German and Iranian citizenship.Rekdiver wrote:Sole gunman not affiliated with any terrorist group, treated before for mental problems, no long gun just a glock, born in Germany. Targeted teens.
Correct. Was there more to this or were you just pointing out his citizenship?TheMoody1 wrote:He held dual German and Iranian citizenship.Rekdiver wrote:Sole gunman not affiliated with any terrorist group, treated before for mental problems, no long gun just a glock, born in Germany. If you're looking for weapon stashes and accomplices, I'd start with the Mosques.asu66 wrote:The question in my mind this afternoon is how a teenage, mentally-ill, German citizen gained access to a Glock and 300-400 rounds of ammo and created and posted a fake McDonald's Facebook account to the 'net luring German teens to a Munich Mickey'Ds location with offers of free food--without any help???????????? Firearms don't just float loose around Germany these days.
It's scary that a copy of the book Why Kids Kill: Inside the Minds of School Shooters, by Peter Langman, Ph.D. was found among the shooter's possessions.
Enough here to keep the German BND Intelligence Service busy for a while.

He may not have been religious, but he was raised in a Shia Muslim family. Also, I read at least one witness acccount that he yelled, "allah akbar" during the attack. IMO, as Barney Fife would say, "he's a nut".McLeansvilleAppFan wrote:And it seems the guy was another in a long line of right-wing mentally ill people. He certainly had mental issues, but what does being raised in a Shia family have to do with his mental issues, at least in the context that he was some sort of religious fanatic? That sort of statement is reeking of anti-muslim sentiment, that in this case seems unwarranted.TheMoody1 wrote:He may not have been religious, but he was raised in a Shia Muslim family. Investigators release a little more info each day. It's a certainty that they aren't telling everything they know. Early this afternoon,I heard a news report on a SiriusXM station that it is now believed that the teen shooter acquired the weapon by way of an online black market purchase. One has to wonder how he pulled all of this off w/o his brother and/or his parents sensing that something was amiss. Still more questions than answers.hapapp wrote:He apparently targeted foreigners, planned this for a year, and did so on the anniversary of the deadly Norwegian mass murder. It seems his Iranian background had little to do with this episode. He apparently had felt bullied in his earlier years.
Just pointing out his background from several articles I read about him. You must be oober sensitive or a wanna be mind reader.McLeansvilleAppFan wrote:He certainly had mental issues, but what does being raised in a Shia family have to do with his mental issues, at least in the context that he was some sort of religious fanatic? Not sensitive, but the juxtaposition of "not-religious" followed by the ",but...Shia", could have been worded a bit better, unless your intention was to make a statement that the very fact he was from a Shia family was proof enough of religious intentions. I'll take your word that this was not your intention and leave it at that.TheMoody1 wrote:Just pointing out his background from several articles I read about him.
