Now nine dead--including one shooter. Other shooters remain at large. All of metro Munich is on lockdown. Transit systems have been shut down. Highways leading out of Bavaria have been closed until further notice. All public and private travel is verboten.

Firearms don't just float loose around Germany these days.

It's scary that a copy of the book Why Kids Kill: Inside the Minds of School Shooters, by Peter Langman, Ph.D. was found among the shooter's possessions.

He may not have been religious, but he was raised in a Shia Muslim family. Also, I read at least one witness acccount that he yelled, "allah akbar" during the attack. IMO, as Barney Fife would say, "he's a nut".

He certainly had mental issues, but what does being raised in a Shia family have to do with his mental issues, at least in the context that he was some sort of religious fanatic? That sort of statement is reeking of anti-muslim sentiment, that in this case seems unwarranted.

Investigators release a little more info each day. It's a certainty that they aren't telling everything they know. Early this afternoon,I heard a news report on a SiriusXM station that it is now believed that the teen shooter acquired the weapon by way of an online black market purchase. One has to wonder how he pulled all of this off w/o his brother and/or his parents sensing that something was amiss. Still more questions than answers.

Not sensitive, but the juxtaposition of "not-religious" followed by the ",but...Shia", could have been worded a bit better, unless your intention was to make a statement that the very fact he was from a Shia family was proof enough of religious intentions. I'll take your word that this was not your intention and leave it at that.
