And a little David Gilmour for good measure.

Since we celebrate the four seasons in the High Country, here is Vivaldi's Summer from The Four Seasons.

Love the Kruger Brothers. I met them when I lived in North Wilkesboro. They played some with a friend of mine. They lived in Wilkes County then. Don't know if they still do.

Seeing the Krugers perform with Doc Watson in 2009 (Doc was 87 years old at the time, I believe) at what was then Farthing Auditorium on campus, was one of the greatest concerts I've ever seen and something I will cherish for the rest of my life. So inspiring.

Since we are on the topic of music...

I just recently heard of a band called Blackberry Smoke. Anyone heard of them? Am I behind the 8 ball or what? My father brought me up on AC/DC, Skynard, and the like. This band has a few different sounds rolled into one and I really like what I've heard so far. I think I read that they are based out of Atlanta area.

And I also really like these covers too! Listened to some while working today.

The Krugers have adopted Wilkesboro as their home in the States when thy aren't on the road for play dates or tours. They have strong allegiance to two annual music festivals here every year--to MerleFest at Wilkes Community College (http://merlefest.org/) on the last weekend of April and to Carolina in the Fall with venues all over the town (http://carolinainthefall.org/) on the fourth weekend in September.

Yeah just a tad behind. They have been around a while now. Went to see them in Louisburg last year with Doc Holiday (a band from old used to play Hillsborough St in Raleigh) . I love the base line intro for "up in smoke" Hope you enjoy
