App State MSOC (6-2-2) *are scheduled to be* in Birmingham, AL Wednesday evening to engage C-USA's UAB Blazers (3-6-2).
The Blazers have played an exceptionally strong schedule and have a very misleading record to show for it. They've been in 5 OT/2OT matches and have lost 6 matches by a single goal in each.
Although the Apps enter the contest with the better record, the Blazers will be no easy mark.
Whether the game will be played is dependent on weather in the mid-south and southeast. Fast-moving Hurricane Michael is expected to make landfall on the Alabama shoreline and/or the Florida Panhandle sometime late Tuesday evening into Wednesday. As the storm moves inland (well east of the Birmingham metroplex) it is expected to turn northeast across Ga, SC and NC.
The gameday/night forecast for Birmingham is for a 70%-80% chance of showers and thunderstorms.
If it happens to the Apps, it happens to me!
