Dominant win! Wrestling has sell out matches on a regular basis and is one of the premier up and coming programs in the country. The wrestling stage isn't as big as football's, but our program is on everybody's radar in that theatre.

If App keeps winning, they should break the top 25! Top 25 in two men's sports in the same year is pretty awesome.

MSOC was there in the late 70s. Football last year and this year. Wrestling a few years ago. Did baseball crack the polss around 2010 or so. I was thinking that was not the case but memory fades? Other?

Seems like we’ve kept Bentley around for awhile. I’m surprised he hasn’t left for a bigger paycheck after all the success.

Re: Wrestling v Duke
I am guessing the pool of schools that care so much about wrestling as to pay a lot more above DI average pay is small enough as those jobs are hard to come by compared to say football or basketball with many more schools with large budgets.
There are only 70-some wrestling programs in DI. Being top 25 in wrestling is like being top 45 in football and top 115 or so in basketball.
Still proud to see us be so competitive with the Prig5 schools year after year.

Re: Wrestling v Duke
My freshman year was the fall of 1980 when the men's soccer team only lost one regular season game (Alabama A&M). We played at Clemson, Wake, Duke and I think NC State beating them all and outnumbering their fans as well. We even had a feature article in Sports Illustrated. My roommate was on the team, so it was a great year. I hated that we lost to Duke in the playoffs after having dominated them in the regular season. Disappointing end to a phenomenal season.McLeansvilleAppFan wrote: ↑Fri Jan 24, 2020 11:54 amMSOC was there in the late 70s. Football last year and this year. Wrestling a few years ago.
