VB drops 3 in App State Invite

The App State Volleyball team fell to 2-5 on the season after losing three 3-1 matches this weekend. The team fell to Towson, ETSU, and UVA.

Looks like Emma Longley, our soph phenom and only pre-season All-Sun Belt player, has just disappeared. She was the star of the match against UNC-W while playing in front of her hometown folks (17 kills). She apparently hasn't been in the lineup since that trip.
IIRC, the same thing happened last season. Did I miss something about a serious injury? The team really struggles without her leaping and hitting skills. The Fall '17 team stats indicate she's played in only 13 sets all season. The team's played 34. Not a good sign!

I've not heard anything either. Last year the losses were blamed on youth and injuries. I hate for the kids to be injured. We really do need a new floor in Varsity for practice. The current floor has no give at all ... bad news for a leaping sport like VB. Alas, there are plenty of things that money could fix. The floor in Varsity would be second on my list behind a locker room at the field hockey facility.

To quote the discerning and judicious Senator from Buncombe..."ouch." That practice floor in VG can't be helpful in rehabbing/restoring Emma's health and self-confidence. She'll be wondering with every hit or block if this is the one that does further damage.
