Here, we have a case where two teams that haven't scored a goal in about a month (give or take a day or two)--still haven't at the 89-minute mark of this home match for the Apps.

Golden Goal by senior John Walrath just at the end of the first OT period. Apps win; UNC-A very unhappy about something. Bulldog players went after the officials briefly before order was restored.
What a match this turned out to be. Props to Coach O'Keefe, keeper Jake Chasteen and the App defense for a third-consecutive clean-sheet and the fourth in the past six matches.

Worked to our benefit but I personally have never been a fan of Golden Goal.

Yeah, sudden death losses are emotionally draining. The UNC-A coach called this one "cruel." On the other hand, the "golden" wins are really sweet.

I like it. If you have to wait around for almost two hours before someone finally scores, probably best to call it a day at that point.
