FH now .500 for the season

With a 3-2 victory over Ball State the team upped its record to 8-8 on the season. The team is 5-1 in the month of October. The win puts App State in 4th place in the MAC.

5-1 in October shows improvement. And that is all you ask for in a team. Great job ladies and coaches.

This team continues to improve. Having watched them against the three time defending conference champions, I'd say they're on the cusp of being really good. We had freshmen playing in several key positions this year. Rachel Gaines in goal is great ... and has a GPA of nearly 4.0!
The recruiting has strengthened in spite of the lack of facilities. We're got a great field in a beautiful location but no locker rooms, toilets, or shelter at all. Imagine how much easier it would be to recruit high caliber players if we had a locker room on site!

My girls play FH and we like to go watch the hometown VCU team from time to time. We never miss when App plays FH at VCU. And I can tell you the difference in the team that won at VCU this year and the last App team I watched lose big here a few years ago was amazing - night and day. The team is clearly heading in the right direction. Nice to see.
