Rome wasn't built in a day. Coach has a record of success but this is a program that has known little of that in its relative short history, this could take a while.

You're correct. First year, first full class not even here yet, and a team that has struggled and is trying to overcome the usual spring outdoor sports issues that we have. Time is something that will be needed. As long as the team responds to Coach then progress will be made.

Just watching Coach Hoerner's interactions with the team and their response to her, it looks like they're headed the right direction. They've got a long way to go for sure, but I believe they're on their way. All the mini-camps and community interaction will pay off with time.

Extremely young team...9 frosh, 9 soph, 8 jr and only 2 sr. Will be interesting to watch the young players as they gain experience and soak up instruction from the coaching staff.

The problem recently has been retaining players. At the end, the players mutinied on the coach and a change had to be made. It was the second time in four years the players did that.

This is Year 0 for Hoerner. This year is all about building a culture and bringing players back for next season.

If the new softball facility at the Old WHS property happens, it could be a boost to the program.
