Even though this shouldn't be shocking to anyone it is very unfortunate! I thank Coach Lake for his dedication to the program and all his work. Time now to pick up the flag and keep moving forward.

In that AppState sponsors far more sports than most schools, it seems that dropping men’s and women’s tennis and men’s and women’s golf would be prudent. Spring weather in Boone is bad and we don’t have indoor tennis facilities on campus nor do we have a golf course.

Interesting that a senior student and four year player is the interim coach.

Indoor tennis facilities already in the works and not our money. Just FYI.

I heard DG mention that but I didn’t know that someone else was paying for it. Will students get to use it too? Is it dual use with softball and baseball?

There is a minimum number of sports a school must sponsor for D1 and a think even more for FBS. Dropping 4 sports would still meet this requirement from my understanding but only so much can be dropped regardless of funding or weather or whatever the reason.

I went to the athletics committee meeting of the Board of Trustees on Thursday in place of Steve had high school makeup games. Listening to Gillin, he's 100 percent not cutting golf or tennis. Just to get that out of the way. And all four (men's tennis incident aside) are having solid spring seasons.
