MSOC: App State @ Gnatsboro 7 PM Tonite Iggle Field
The Sun Belt MSOC Game of the Month will be played tonite in Gnatsboro and our young, inconsistent and totally unpredictable Apps have a shot at the #2 conference tourney seed--and the #1 seed is within reach if we get some help from CCU. That's the good news.
The bad news is that Appalachian hasn't had a MSOC "W" over the GATA guys since 2011. Two or three ties are sprinkled in, but zero wins. Nada. Zippo.
Then there's that Tuesday night 2-0 home loss to Presbyterian. That's embarrassing!
Then there was Thursday night's GATA ambush of our "other football" team. Enuff already. That's too much for one week. Break that iggle streak, Apps!
If it happens to the Apps, it happens to me!

Nil-Nil in the 70th minute. C'mon, Apps. Steady in both goal fronts. Beat the iggles.

With 6 seconds left, GS gets the game winner to deal the Apps a 1-0 defeat.

GSU's head coach hnews/2018/10/27/talavera-scores-game-winner-with-six-seconds-left.aspx
No one at Southern cared to explain this...a yellow card assigned to a GSU player at the exact time the winning goal was registered. That seems like really odd timing to me...
Yellow card on Georgia Southern Javier Carbonell. [89:54]
Georgia Southern substitution: Edward Raji for Javier Carbonell. [89:54]
89:54 GOAL by Georgia Southern Gonzalo Talavera (FIRST GOAL), Assist by Aldair Cortes, goal number 2 for season.

I'm not certain this oddity is over yet.

Re: MSOC: App State @ Gnatsboro 7 PM Tonite Iggle Field
It means a huge controversy over calls on the field by the referee. That last flurry of activity (yellow card on GSU, a substitution for GSU and a goal for GSU) all occurred simultaneously according to the official stats...all in the same one-second 89:54 snapshot in time. That's not humanly possible.
Apparently, the game got away from the refs. Seven yellow cards were issued in the second half. Four on App; three on GSU. ASU even received a team yellow. That's very rare. Likely overboard for the situation.
Anyway, these two teams are likely to meet again in the Tourney. Bad blood between these two. GATA may not get the last laugh.

I’m getting out my Stink voodoo dolls again. Didn’t think I’d need them anymore.
