This Senior Day game is for an App State (7-5-3 overall, 1-1-1 Sun Belt) tie with Georgia Southern for second place in the regular season SBC final stats. Southern would get the tie-breaker in the conference tourney bracket.

The Howard Bison will "stampede" into the App State Soccer Stadium hoping to win their first Sun Belt game of the season. The Bison (2-8-3 overall, 0-3-0 in the SBC), although on a three match losing streak, usually find some way to keep it close. Their only blowout loss was a 4-0 loss to Navy in the early season. They've lost seven matches that were decided by one goal and they've been part of three ties. The Bison are dangerous--as the Apps learned last season in Washington, DC (Greene Stadium). Howard handed the Apps a disappointing 1-0 loss.
