Coach Hoerner has been a Godsend for our previously struggling program. Our team has already won more Sun Belt games this season than they won in three seasons under the former staff. That's speaks well for the coaching leadership and for the buy-in by a lot of young players. The new recruiting "eyes" aren't hurting the situation, either.

Junior pitcher Kenzie Longanecker now has 12 wins to her credit. To put that in perspective, the team has won 20 games (first time since 2013), and Kenzie has been the winning pitcher in 12 of them. With 27 games left in the regular season, App Softball is 11 wins away from topping their best season win record in just about forever (appstatesports.com just goes back to 2006). Only once in all those years has the team won more than 30 games (31 in 2013). Go Apps!

There should be some sort of media guide with all the years results. The first few years were, shall we say, a struggle, more than not if my memory serves correctly. A good year here or there but I think 2013 was the best we had with winning the SoCon regular season. If we top that win record I would call this the best year ever, partly due to the fact SB softball is a bit better than SoCon softball.

Edit. I meant to mention softball started late 1990s at App so is one of the newer sports at App.
