Big weekend ahead as the Sun Belt's two leading teams are set to clash in three contests--this evening, Saturday and Sunday. Louisiana's Cajuns are ranked #10 in the nation in the coaches' poll and #20 in the NCAA RPI. The Apps are ranked #96 in the NCAA RPI, but not in the coaches' Top 25 poll.
Looking at weather conditions four-hours before the first scheduled pitch this evening, the battle between the two teams may take a backseat to Mother Nature. Wind and rain are expected to affect playing conditions.
Prof. Ray Russell of booneweather.com says this evening and Saturday will be the best times to get the games in. Sunday's forecast for the Boone area is for windy, washout conditions.
