Our field hockey team isn't in the national elite ranks ... yet! They're making steady improvement every year and are great fun to watch!

Certainly, not elite, but when there are only 77 programs, you don't have to be much over .500 to get into the Top 25. The only team our team has beaten in this 6-0 run that had a winning record last year is Georgetown. I say this not to downplay this impressive run, but rather to point out the ladies are winning the games a good team should win. Definitely heading in the right direction.

FH was my wife's favorite sport. Growing up in Richmond and playing at VCU, then playing club ball post graduation, she gave it up when we moved to the Roanoke area where it doesn't exist. As a result, I have always been a casual follower of App's program that started a year before I matriculated there. Its good to see them make progress under Coach Dawson. We're probably still looking at a 5 goal differential v. UNC but considering where we were 5 years ago the future is bright.
