Naming rights. Has that been public knowledge? If so, I missed it. Randy Marion , thanks!

This has been a big concern of on member of the board since we removed the track at KBS, I wonder what his thoughts will be?

It’ll be this time next year before he realizes it’s completed.McLeansvilleAppFan wrote: ↑Tue Mar 28, 2023 6:52 pmThis has been a big concern of on member of the board since we removed the track at KBS, I wonder what his thoughts will be?

Forgive me for being lazy and not researching this myself, but the track and infield look done, but are there plans to add some more comfortable seating to the concrete?
Nice touch with the different color exchange zones.

Concrete looks like it was from Watauga old football stands. Guess they just re-used that. Hopefully add some seats along with bleachers. Don’t know the answer to that though./\PP ST/\TE GRAD 09 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 28, 2023 8:10 pmForgive me for being lazy and not researching this myself, but the track and infield look done, but are there plans to add some more comfortable seating to the concrete?

Re: 105 Track Breaking it in
I had a roommate my sophomore year who ran track- high hurdles. I think I might have gone over to the stadium to watch some of a track meet. It's a tough watch at times if I recall because lots of stuff can be going on at once and events can drag out. Are the meets generally well attended to the extent that lots of seating is needed? It's just great that T&F can hopefully get rolling again. Is there a plan to add other sports on that property?

The new softball stadium will be located at the 105 complex, along with indoor and outdoor tennis facilities, and locker room space for each. The softball move will help facilitate the new larger indoor practice facility to replace Sofield.bigdaddyg wrote: ↑Wed Mar 29, 2023 6:44 amI had a roommate my sophomore year who ran track- high hurdles. Re: 105 Track Breaking it in
About 6 years since it was removed from KBS and 2 meets into the season and 2 days before the 3rd, finally we have a proper track and field.
Now we just need to get the facilities and other buildings built.
Now to Tennis after it's courts were turned into parking.

That's what I do. I gripe and I know things.

Re: 105 Track Breaking it in
T&F is not a big spectator sport, even though I personally enjoy going to meets. Honestly, the seating is more important for the athletes who are waiting for their events during the invitationals. There will be fans and family to be sure but there isn't a need for tons of seating.
The facility is looking great. I'm really glad the team is finally getting a facility....if only we could add back the indoor season.

Re: 105 Track Breaking it in
I was visiting Boone with the family before COVID and there was a high school invitational style meet going on in KBS. Saw a highs school coach I knew in the parking lot and went in with him and his team just to chat a few minutes while the fam was bopping around. Let me tell you, all those kids and their gear trying to maneuver around our stadium seats was painful. It's too cramped for all those teams sitting around with gear/bags. The open style concrete may not be the greatest thing to look at but it is much more suits le for their needs.

Nope just glad we have a track for our track team. Just don't get killed crossing 105.

No need for names, have seen others calling for indoor when we haven't even finished the outdoor yet. Have a blessed day.NewApp wrote: ↑Wed Mar 29, 2023 11:13 amDufas, I never said anything about indoor T&F.Tru2ASU wrote: ↑Wed Mar 29, 2023 9:42 amMoved on to wanting an indoor track and field.McLeansvilleAppFan wrote: ↑Tue Mar 28, 2023 6:52 pmThis has been a big concern of on member of the board since we removed the track at KBS, I wonder what his thoughts will be?

Re: 105 Track Breaking it in
To be clear, nobody is calling for an indoor facility. We have that. It would be nice to have the indoor men's program re-started. It never made sense to me that we cancelled that one, since the same athletes compete for outdoor T&F and the same coaches handle it. Seems the savings is nominal. Just my personal opinion. Yes, I hated that they discontinued men's soccer also.Tru2ASU wrote: ↑Wed Mar 29, 2023 11:24 amNo need for names, have seen others calling for indoor when we haven't even finished the outdoor yet. Re: 105 Track Breaking it in
It was done for Title IX reasons. It allowed us to fully fund women's sports (and thus men's sports). We won't see a men's indoor team before a woman sport is added.Yosef84 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 29, 2023 12:04 pmTo be clear, nobody is calling for an indoor facility. We have that.
