I wonder if anyone has looked into joining the CAA for field hockey?

If not can we leverage our relationship to sign Standford and Cal up for a football game?

The CAA would crush us. The NorPac does not have an auto-qualifier in the NCAA FH tourney from my understanding, and I think partly due to the low level of play, I like having the tie-in to Stanford and Cal and would not want to lose that unless it really helped our FH team by moving t the CAA.

Using NorPac as a way to leverage more sports against some west coast teams would be nice, especially in some of the Olympic sports.

Why continue to fund a program that is .500 at best in one of the worst conferences in the sport if that is the case?

Per scholarship, field hockey has to be one of the most expensive sports. Should we reassess which women's sports we should offer?

Lacrosse is a growing sport in the Southeast, it can be played on field turf and it's played by some schools in the NCHSAA (plus, you don't have to wet down the field before games). It seems to be the wiser choice, to me.

I was thinking someone once stated on the old MMB the FH program has an endowment that paid some of the expenses. If that is true then they would change the equation on what we can do.

That does change things somewhat.

Also, the school is spending $1.5 million on turning the Soccer Field at State Farm on top of the hill into a Field Hockey specific facility. For years our Field Hockey team has had a disadvantage due to the turf at KBS not being FH-specific. Now they will be up to date and hopefully the investment translates. Giving softball their own facilities has translated well.
