MSOC at Radford

Our men's strikers are on the road to face a very experienced and very tough Radford (Big South) side tonite. Although Radford is winless in the young regular season, having lost 1-0 at Penn State and after battling WVU to a 2-2 draw in Morgantown, the Highlanders won't be a UNC-A level pushover. They lost a 2-0 roadie exhibition to UVA and then beat Va Tech in a 2-1 exhibition match on their home pitch.

Hope the Apps had Wheaties for b'fast 'cause this'll be a rough 'n' tumble affair. In the last match between the two teams (2011-2012), Radford left Ted Mackorell Field with a 1-0 overtime win. Nineteen (19) fouls were whistled. RU leads the all-time series 8-7-1

On a side note, RU must have a United Nations diplomat as an assistant coach. Twenty members (2/3) of the squad have birthplaces either in Europe or South America.

It pains me to report a 4 - 2 loss tonite; albeit to a strong side. RU has a sound, fully funded soccer program and a big pipeline to foreign players. That's what you have to have to make waves. ASU lacks the full funding and the international pipeline. The full funding will come; the pipeline...TBD.

Radford, Longwood, and Madison were all women's colleges. Literally all of my female teachers K-12 were grads of one of those three schools.

Radford must have a strong offensive side as App State has been stingy on D prior to this match.
