I don't understand how points can be given for football when the season isn't over? Please explain.

I am just keeping an unofficial record. I don't have time to do it every day, but once a week takes about 5 minutes on a Sunday morning. The combined points are also unofficial as the SoCon does not issue a combined cup for all sports. The SunBelt ONLY gives one cup for all sports - the Bubas Cup. Hopefully I can do that next year.

Just something for a guy to do that likes playing with numbers and simple stats.

I was aware that there was a separate cup for male and female sports. What I wonder is if a monetary award goes with the cups.

Not that I aware of. Just lots of prestige. :-)

There may be a small transfer of funds from the SoCon office to the winning school, but I doubt it. My guess is the SoCon has a fairly tight budget. And given the dominance of App on the men's sides I doubt many schools would want to vote to give money to one school, which has been the case with few exceptions for decades.

I didn't think females needed a cup.

One of my PE credits at App was fencing. I had muscles that hurt that I did not even know existed. But more importantly, in the class the female students seems like they had to wear two metal cups, one for each breast when we would take to the foils.

I can't remember if the protective padding we would wear was unisex but of different sizes or there was a male and female version and the female version was two cup holders for the metal. I think they were unisex and the females were required to wear the cups, though everyone may have had the holders.

I don't remember wearing a cup for the class however.

It makes sense with all the silicone out there.
