Apps add JuCo All-Star guard to roster

Unread post by asu66 » Sun Sep 07, 2014 3:13 pm

I just discovered a new ASU women's basketball player hiding in plain sight--on the team roster. Betcha I've looked over that roster a half-dozen times this month and it's just this afternoon that I found a recruit I didn't know about. That gives us a roster of 14 players; but only 13 scholarships are allowed. Someone is a walk-on. I dunno who. I guess Darcie doesn't have to worry about that issue any more.

Vernessa Hinnant (https://twitter.com/PrincessB3lla), a 5-10 JuCo transfer guard from Selma (NC) Clayton by way of Miami/Dade College has joined the Lady Apps. Hinnant was something of a Div. I JuCo All-Star last spring.

Chuck, doesn't women's basketball get 15 schollys?

Yes, the NCAA (Division I) allows 15 max for women. Not completely certain Darcie's ever been allowed the max.
