The soccer Apps take on the Dolphins of Jacksonville at Ted Mackorell tonite at 7 PM. Quickly, JU is 3-7 on the season. Not so hot--but a little deceiving. They have lost to Davidson and Wofford; but own decent wins over Campbell and GaSouth.

This should be a comfortable win for the Apps; but that was easy for me to say. Goals have come hard for Appalachian teams over the last three decades ; so hard and fast predictions I will leave for someone else. The Apps are 3-5-2 overall; 0-0-1 in the Sunbelt. This should provide a warm-up before the road match in Wash., D.C. against new Sun Belt member Howard U. on Saturday.

Anyway, Give 'em Hell, Apps!

Didn't make it up the mountain tonight, but my wife kept me posted with updates. Apps win 2-1, Stanley Broaden with the winning goal. We took the early lead off of a set piece, with Alex Berringer scoring his second goal of the season. Jacksonville scored off a 25yd shot, midway into second half. Jacksonville has only won three games, but did beat Campbell 1-0 and Ga Southern 3-0. We'll take the win and hope it puts us back on track!
