After Day 1, the App women are 3rd and the men are last. Tristen Van Ord set a conference meet record in winning the 10,000 meter run.

I know there are some better programs in the SBC but the men are down. What happened?

I have no idea about times and heights this year versus previous year's results. It may be we are doing better in a stronger conference. It may be we are not at the same level and are slower and such. I do know we did not leave the SoCon on top (near the top but not on top.) and as such the results we are seeing this year are not as surprising as some seem to think would be the case.

Hopefully in a few short years we are attracting talent that can reproduce the same results as year's past. Compared to Indoor we are not doing as well even for this year. Hopefully the late Saturday and Sunday events play to our strengths, but historically we tended to lose a lead on Sunday so our strengths tended to be Saturday events it would seem.

I do not believe the men's team is fully scholarship because of the number of men's sports we support and the issue with 9.

I was not thinking of that but this does bring up another point. Most of the SoCon, from what I was told , had few schools that sent a full team to T&F. We did, WCU, and Samford was doing this as well. That was the top three the last few years.

If the SB schools are sending full teams then that is going to make getting points harder.
