If shot advantage is any indication, MSOC seems to have improved considerably in possession, as compared to last year. The team outshot Lipscomb today 20 to 14 (7 SOG to 3 SOG) and an even larger shot advantage in Friday's game against Belmont (14-4; 4 SOG to 3 SOG). However, we struggled finding the back of the net this weekend. Belmont U. and Lipscomb are relatively weak teams from an RPI perspective and we would hope to have little trouble beating teams of this caliber. On a positive note, we left Nashville with two wins, and moved to 3-1 on the season. Hopefully this taste of success will help the team build confidence when we face tougher competition in the next week or so against Radford and Winthrop.

Interestingly, Lipscomb lost their first two matches--including a 2-0 loss to nearby foe, Belmont. They followed up with a *freaky* home win over a fine #10 ranked Xavier squad. That win got Lipscomb a #10 NSCAA ranking in the Southeast Region. They haven't won a match since.

The loss to Lipscomb got Xavier bounced out of the top 25. The name of the game is winning consistently; or at least winning the matches that you should win.

There could be a big shake-up in this week's national and regional rankings. They should be released about 1 PM on Tuesday, 9.15.2015.
