MSoc @ Presbyterian Tues. 7 PM Clinton, SC

MSoc travels to Clinton, SC for Tuesday night's match between the Apps (3-3-1, 1-0 Sun Belt) and Presbyterian (0-9-1, 0-2-1 Big South). Oh, did I mention that the Apps are only 1-3 against Big South teams with only winless PC remaining on their "Big South portion" of the '15 schedule? (Not too funny!) Way to water it down, Coach. Didn't seem to work very well, did it?

PC has been bad; very bad this season--but performed very well at home last week against #4 Coastal Carolina. (At least CCU was ranked 4th nationally--just two slots below #2 ranked UNC-CH until they lost to a bad UNC-A team on Saturday. Yeah, that UNC-A team.)

Just when we start to moan and groan about 90 minute, one goal, bore fests--this stuff starts to crop up. No way Asheville can beat the #4 team in the entire land; except that they did. :!:

Apps 3, PC 0

Our guys are starting to beat the teams they're supposed to beat'; but it's getting late in the season. They're still only 2-3 against Big South competition. They have three straight shutouts; but all three came against weak competition.

Still, the team's successes are trending upward, and doing so with younger players getting more PT. That's positive.

Ahead is one last tune-up before the toughest stretch of the season. They have a "friendly" at home against USC Upstate Friday night before a road match against NC State on Monday and then three key Sun Belt Conf. tilts. Now at 6-5 overall, 1-1 SBC, there's still opportunity to make this a respectable season.

Just read where two Upstate players were killed in an auto wreck over the weekend. Two other Upstate athletes died in the accident as well.

Just read it on the SoccerAmerica site. How does a parent cope with a tragedy like this...
