11/011 2:30 PM EST S. Alabama vs. Appalachian State (W Volleyball) ESPN3


Our second-place Apps (18-4, 11-0 Sun Belt) receive a visit from the fourth-place S. 'Bama Jags (13-10, 7-5 Sun Belt) at 12:30 PM EST on the HCC hardwood. The Apps are fresh off of a three set sweep of the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns; while the Jags are coming off of a straight set road loss at Ga State.

This one could be close, but if the Apps play their game, there's no reason to expect anything less than their 15th straight win--bringing the showdown with the stAte Red Wolves ever closer.

Four of our ladies continue their assault on the ASU Volleyball Record Book--Brown, Keller, Corrigan and Mahoney. It should be fun to watch.

Much as I expected, the Jags have come to fight. They took the first set 25-22. The Apps have just bagged the second set 25-17. It's still anyone's match going into set 3.

The Apps have a target on their backs; and a lot riding on this contest. Go Apps!

Apps are fully awake now--pushing out to a quick and devastating 19-9 lead in the third set.

Set 3 to the Apps 25-14 on a kill by true frosh Alana Schoff. Apps lead the match 2-1. Set 4 to be under way soon.

And the winner is ASU 3-1; last set to Apps 25-11; on a match point kill by senior OH Jess Keller.

APP flexed some muscle in those last two sets. Need to take out GaSo and get ready for the other unbeaten, stAte. Hopefully we can stomp on Ark's SB championship chances in two sports this year.
