MSOC tackles Furman tonite

Unread post by asu66 » Sat Oct 13, 2012 12:45 pm

Our beleaguered men's strikers play at 9-2-2 Furman tonite in a 7PM match that gives them little reason for hope. Despite a better than their record defense, the Apps...*sigh*...once again have no offense. In fact, Furman has one forward who has scored as many goals as the entire ASU squad. That's not a prescription for much success on SC Hwy. 25.

Furple is coming off a mid-week win over arch-rival Clemson. I suppose we can hope they take the pitch tonight flat and fail to recover for 110 minutes.

Can't stop without one rant. Who on earth created the Apps' schedule with 12 of 17 matches on the road? That's cruel and unusual punishment.

Well, I almost got my wish. Junior Harrison Delbridge of Raleigh (Broughton) scored in the 56th minute and keeper Danny Free of Doncaster (England) Hall Cross School held the 'Dins to one goal as the two teams battled to a double OT draw.
