Any sport that gets ranked is cool. Strange rankings though- Cornell at 1-3 is ranked #16. Four whole matches so far with one win. Guess they are poised to really turn it on.

For Cornell is may be some very close matches.

And not to take away from the ranking, but there are only about 70-some wrestling schools I think. It seems to be, if not a dying sport, at least a sport that is not really growing and shrinking at a slow pace.

This would be the same ratio as having an RPI of about 110 in MBB. I would rather see us ranked than not of course. We are certainly doing better than some of the Prig5 schools.
This is my very generic signature added to each post.

Cornell apparently has a strong team. The three losses were to top 10 teams and close matches. Also, this overall won-loss record only reflects dual matches (head to head) against another team, not performance at intercollegiate tournaments. They won one of those, 2nd in a smaller one and placed 4th in another (one in which we placed 13th)

Yeah, wrestling is not the most popular sport nation-wide, but it has been one of the better-performing non-revenue sports at App at different points in time. Being an individualized "team" sport, it takes strong performers across several weight classes to have a high-performing team.
