How do our Olympic sports teams such as women's soccer travel for conference games? Since we are pretty far from most conference mates do we fly to all locations or are these teams bussed? Anyone got insight?

It's some of both; depending on the distance involved. It's not a perfect world. MSOC had to bus to Oneonta, NY in '14 for a tough conference match with Hartwick. That's 700+ miles and 12 hours to get there then have a pre-game meal and play a 90 minute match--all within a 24 hour day--only to board the bus after the game for the return to campus. Ya gotta really love it and be committed to it to live that way!

Fortunately for the most part there are many universities in North Carolina and surrounding states to make away game scheduling more manageable and not involve a flight. I too have always wondered what the budget was like for olympic sports. I remember I had a "friend" on the field hockey team, and they took the bus to a lot of games. Some of which were above the Mason Dixon line.

I have wondered the same. I believe some teams have schedules such that they play other schools in the same geographic region within a few days. It has to be really expensive though to go to Idaho and parts of Texas
