We know. We're die-hard App State fans. It takes a deliberate effort on our part to try to be objective. That said, our goal from the beginning is to offer "real talk" about App State sports.
There was hardly anything negative to say about an 11-2 football season. When basketball season rolled around, we covered the many negatives while maintaining that we see light at the end of the tunnel due to the effort and strategies being put forth by Coaches Fox and Angel.
Baseball is a different story. We're 100% behind the Mountaineer program. Especially the young men that put in hours of practice to perform for our school. But if we want to be upfront to our listeners, we have to say we see very little light at the end of baseball's tunnel. Playing poorly and having a losing season isn't good but can be explained reasonably. However, when the team isn't UNITED and the players aren't ENJOYING this beautiful game, it is unacceptable and 100% within the head coach's control. To quote Julius Campbell from one of the greatest movies of all time (Remember the Titans!) "Attitude reflects leadership, captain."
But we're taking the high road. We refuse stoop into name calling, judging character or personally attacking anyone. We're not in the locker room so we can only comment on what we see on the field and try to put it in the proper context. If some disagree with out assessment, that's perfectly fine. We've always welcomed differing opinions because that is the best way to create a better perspective.
That said, here's a semi-wrap up of the baseball season after the weekend sweep at the hands of UT-Arlington.
No matter what... It's Great To Be A Mountaineer!

Re: The Ultimate Sadness [Black & Gold Podcast]
For those that can't make it up the mountain for all the games, thanks for the insight, especially on your take of the players.
