The interesting thing about that is Mayfield was a converted LB if I recall correctly.AtlAppMan wrote:I would really like to see a WR like William Mayfield back in '05/'06. Many times I saw our QB's put the ball out there to Mayfield and he would make a play and then be unstoppable running the ball after reception. That is the type of receiver I would love to see emerge this year.

Re: Fall Practice
I wondered about that when he committed, but I haven't seen any suggestion that it will happen. They probably don't want to mess with a good thing with that Nunn/Gossett right side.appst1992 wrote:Obviously, I haven't seen the xfer from Kent State play, but I do remember reading that he played in a lot of games over his career there. Do you guys think Nunn could possibly be moved to G with the new guy at RT?

Re: Fall Practice
I would expect to see Johnson at LT, TEC/Kent state transfer at LG, Neuzil at Center, Gossett and Nunn at RG and RT.
I actually expect to be fine at WR and TE. The 2nd corner back opposite Duck is my biggest worry.

Re: Fall Practice
You do recall correctly. It's my understanding that Coach Lil Mo was the one who lobbied to move Mayfield from LB to WR. If true, it's probably the best coaching call he ever made.MDaniels84 wrote:The interesting thing about that is Mayfield was a converted LB if I recall correctly.AtlAppMan wrote:I would really like to see a WR like William Mayfield back in '05/'06. Not sure how many have noticed since it's not updated on App's website but according to Roscoe's twitter, he has converted to TE. While not as big as Burns, my guess is he'll provide a nice match up problem with his speed at TE assuming he's completely healed.

If he can pick up blocks like Burns, Roscoe will be a great red zone target with his athleticism, speed, and hands!moonshine wrote: Not sure how many have noticed since it's not updated on App's website but according to Roscoe's twitter, he has converted to TE. Re: Fall Practice
This year could see even less in terms of coverage from Athletics as Zeke Beam's last day is today. He is/was the head of strategic communications (SID).
Also, Kelsey Sharkey, who was the head of the video department, left for a job at Cincinnati under Luke Fickell a couple weeks ago.

Had no idea Beam was leaving. That was a short stay. Have they started hunting for his replacement yet?

Anyone know if there are any open practices this week? In town for the week and would love to sit in my seats and catch a practice.

Re: Fall Practice
Happy for Kelsey and not at all surprised, 'cause Cincy's her hometown. Still, hated to see her go. The chance to go home with a nice salary bump and the perks of a job at the U of C were too good to turn down. Satt seems high on this freshman class, the ones that don't redshirt will truly have to be special based upon the returning talent.

According to the article below, looks like both Fuller and Chamberlain were dismissed due to their involvement in that incident. Prayers up for these young men to turn things back around for their future.hapapp wrote:Fuller and Chamberlain however are gone.

Looks like they fixed that, but it still looks like an intern wrote it. Our online written content too often has a semi-pro feel to it.The Rock wrote:

Is it just me or do the writers of these articles go way overboard using the term "student-athletes"?EastHallApp wrote:Looks like they fixed that, but it still looks like an intern wrote it. Our online written content too often has a semi-pro feel to it.The Rock wrote:

I'm pretty sure that's a branding thing. The NCAA goes out of their way to use "student-athlete" and schools do the same.bigdaddyg wrote:Is it just me or do the writers of these articles go way overboard using the term "student-athletes"?EastHallApp wrote:Looks like they fixed that, but it still looks like an intern wrote it.
