ODU is playing VT 13 times in 15 years, six of those at home.
This should be a lightbulb moment for JMU that FBS would be worth it. UVA and VT would 100% play at JMU's giant half-a-stadium.

1) Perhaps, but probably not with that frequency. Not quite as many recruits in Harrisonburg as there are in the Tidewater.T-Dog wrote:ODU is playing VT 13 times in 15 years, six of those at home.

2) Does anyone want JMU in their league anymore? The Sun Belt needed them to stage a title game. Now it doesn't. And JMU might not have the finances to go independent like Liberty has.

Re: State of Virginia to have insane number of G5 and P5 rivalry games
With only 4 FBS teams in Virginia this is extremely manageable, I'd hope the state of NC could behoove its P5s to do the same (even though there are 7 of us which makes it a little more difficult to play with this frequency).
I'd be curious if UALR elects to add football and the Sunbelt has to take them, if JMU would suddenly become attractive again and if their administration have humbled themselves to jump at the opportunity. The Sunbelt is unquestionably better than it was the last time JMU was a candidate. Or if LIberty shows themselves as a viable FBS program would the two attempt Sunbelt membership as a pair.

Besides Tech and UVA, who are the other two P5s in Virginia?

The Pro FBS fans at JMU have to be losing their minds right now. Kinda how some of us felt as we saw peers move.up before us, but even worse knowing their leaders turned down a legit offer. Three schools they once looked down on (ODU, LU, and CCU) have passed them by in a short time.
When will "It's better than what we had" no longer be good enough for App State?

College football is all about money and liberty has access to more of it than any program in existence. They will have these kinds of schedules for many years to come. It is a shame that money has become the most important thing in college football but it is.AppfaninCAALand wrote:heard the announcement about the 3-2 series between Liberty and VT on the drive home here in RVA, about drove off the road in shock.

Hate to say it, but it's going to be a much nicer stadium than we have.
