GaSo fans in Boone

Unread post by McLeansvilleAppFan » Sun Oct 15, 2017 2:47 pm

Based on this post I suspect there may not be many GaSo fans in KBS. It appears a fan bus they planned to use has been cancelled, which I assume is due to lack of interest and it going from a fund-raiser to a money loser.

Can't blame them for a Thursday night game.

It probably will not be a well attended game from our fan base either.

The crappy part of it is that it was an all-inclusive package of tickets and transportation. They apparently refunded the cost of the bus but not the game tickets.

I'd be shocked if we get 20k fans of either school into KBS for that Thursday night game.

Several hotels are sold for that night. We have a place for two nights, we will be there!

I don't know if this is a good idea or not, but it's an idea. For Thursday night games that don't draw well, would it be possible to make an announcement, say early 1st quarter, to the hill people that they can take an un-occupied seat as long as they move if the ticket holder shows up? It'd be better optics for a nationally broadcasted game to have fewer people on the hill and more in the seats. I know some people like the hill obviously. Just an idea..

Thursday night games are tough for any fan that's not local. That said, hopefully we have a good turnout. I do plan to make the drive from Atlanta for the game.

Silver lining...if stink continues to stink maybe the Sunbelt will see fit not to make this a Thursday night match up going forward...

ESPN is making the Midweek games I assume. I am not sure ESPN would still replace GaSo with Troy or Ark St. I think we have one midweek game most every year sadly.

At least 2 of my clan will be there. Fans need to show up and support the team at home games. Thought this game would be an easy win but with our recent performance who knows. We need to be loud and proud.

A beautiful weekend in the hills and what else people gonna do? Watch UNC?
And we want a trophy 🏆 for a rivalry game that won't be well attended? I'm not gonna miss it.

Veteran's Day is being observed on that Friday, the 10th. I'm thinking that with most people not having to work the next day it will lead to a pretty well attended beat down of the Eagles. Fail Southern!

I plan to be there but again, I don't buy green bananas .I understand the week night game for ESPN ,but don't like it and I think its tough on the players. As I seem to recall I felt like I had been in an automobile collision for several days after a game. Perhaps if they were played after each teams "bye".
