Many interesting story lines in this one.Biggest game in GaState's albeit brief history. Elliot has them believing, and winning.

I think Doug can wear Charlie down in the late rounds. Of course Charlie has the reach advantage so DG will have to move in and out to avoid the haymaker.

Agree with the post, but I also add:

App State HC - We should get credit for one of our own

Doug should pull his dress shirt over his face and start uppercutting. First round KO.

Doug Gillin has achieved so much in such a short time at ASU. We are very fortunate to have him as our AD. I hope he is here for a long time. Aside from all of his accomplishments, the one attribute DG has that Charlie Cobb NEVER had is "people skills". IMO, CC always seemed to gravitate to a select few where he felt comfortable while DG works the crowd, trying to interact with as many different folks as he can. I never, ever saw CC go from one tailgate area to another like DG does on a regular basis. As an AD, I feel you must energize the alumni especially if you are needing financial support to achieve your department's goals. I never had that feeling while CC was here. DG is also an excellent public speaker which I feel is vital in an AD's role. CC always seemed uncomfortable at the podium and I will never forget when he made Rick Beasley speak on behalf of the Athletic Department at CC's last Yosef Club Spring tour at the Rock Barn. To an alum, that was very disturbing to me. I like Sean Elliott and I am happy he has turned that program around, but I hope we kick there #$%& on the 25th! GO APPS!

While Charlie had his shortcomings, he did take us to the next level. We would not be in the position we are today without him. I will always be grateful for that.
