2018 Football Schedule?
Has this been released yet? We're making travel plans for the year and I really need to know the schedule so we can plan around games. I see the 4 non-conference games in Sept. but really need the others. Does anyone know when it'll be released? I can't slow-roll my wife's trip planning indefinitely.

Re: 2018 Football Schedule?
Interesting to see how the bye week works for teams that play on Wednesdays.

Re: 2018 Football Schedule?
Usually, the team has off the week before they play on Wednesday. The Sun Belt has had two Wednesday games.
I can see the Troy, stAte and GaSo games on weekdays this season.
The magic date is March 1

Re: 2018 Football Schedule?
I just hope to contain the home mid-week games to one.
I fully expect a minimum of two mid-week games. I think GA St. has a better chance at being mid-week than GS this year.

While I understand booking FCS teams at home, I'd rather we stop that practice all together. I look forward to the Penn State, Troy, & ArkState games.

Re: 2018 Football Schedule?
At least if we're playing an FCS, this year's is an in-state school.
I remember playing at G-W in 2006. The sun was in the away side's eyes the entire first half. Peacock got lifted to the top of the cheerleader pyramid and waived a flag. Imagine Everts doing that.

Re: 2018 Football Schedule?
Except App had an all FBS schedule last year with UTk. I prefer an all FBS schedule if DG can maintain 6 home games even though I wouldn't be that upset if every few years App only had 5 home games assuming 2-3 of the away games are within close proximity (ie. WF, NCSU, UNCC, ECU, Duke, UVA, VT, Marsha, MTSU, UScar, GT etc...).
I feel if App ever wants to make a serious run at NY6 bowl, it will take several stars aligning along with an all FBS schedule with most likely 2 OOC games coming against the autonomous conferences. Those 2 games will most likely be away games if they are against true "power" teams.

Re: 2018 Football Schedule?
We have a solid conference schedule next year. If ULL and Southern were not in the dumps it would be brutal. Really excited for the opportunity to play in a conference championship game in 2018. How does division cross over work? In other words who will drop off the schedule in 2019.

Re: 2018 Football Schedule?
I was at that game also and went with a G-W graduate friend. He was stunned at the amount of people we had there and it started with the sea of App flags at the tailgating lot.T-Dog wrote: ↑Thu Jan 04, 2018 1:38 pmAt least if we're playing an FCS, this year's is an in-state school.

Thanks. I'm afraid my wife is going to want to book some travel for the Fall way before early March...going to have to come up with a plan.

Re: 2018 Football Schedule?
You could just plan a Labor Day weekend trip up north and just happen to be near Happy Valley on September 1st.
I hear the Catskills are nice that time of year...

Re: 2018 Football Schedule?
Most of the games we schedule with Power 5 Conference teams aren't home-and-homes. (Miami and Wake Forest are the exceptions, and more are coming). To balance the slate, we must schedule a team that is willing to come to Kidd Brewer without a reciprocal "home-and-home" agreement. Those are almost universally FCS programs.shortfatoldapp wrote: ↑Thu Jan 04, 2018 7:10 pmWhy?
