Re: Clemson 2024
Geez you guys are all making me depressed reading these replies. Each and every one of you will be alive and in the best health you've been in years when this game comes around. Rose colored glasses on all the time.
But really, I'm hoping we can continue to build. The defense this year will dictate the direction we're going....and the offense....and the special teams.

Re: Clemson 2024
I certainly didn't mean to imply I wasn't proud of the effort. Our D actually played very well. Our O really couldn't get things going and yes, the three very uncharacteristic interceptions were very deflating. I'm always proud of the team, even when they are overmatched. They by no means "no showed" and yes, they did fight hard. The fact is that they were matched against one of the best Defenses in the country. No shame in that.Oldlknapp wrote: ↑Thu Feb 01, 2018 9:37 amActually I was proud of the way we played in that 2015 game. The stats we put up against Clemson were better than almost any team they played that year. We just had a few breakdowms and (champions that they are) they converted those to points. For example Lamb in the end zone trying to throw the ball away and Watkins (Now NFL) grabbing it and rumbling a few yards in for a TD. Very proud of the way we played, and my Clemson friends agreed...but as Frank Howard always said “The only stat that matters is the one on the scoreboard”.

Re: Clemson 2024
Interesting. FBScedules.com still has the games under all three schools schedules. Maybe an extension of the series with Wake Forest is cooking....lefty 24 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 01, 2018 10:30 amDid anyone else notice that the return trip from Akron in '22 and the trip to Wyoming in '23 were missing from the future opponents in the appstatesports.com Clemson release?

Re: Clemson 2024
I concur. If I am remembering correctly, we were only down 3-0 or 6-0 in the 2nd quarter until we threw a pick 6 and then turned it over again on the next series. Our defense was playing lights out in the first few series. I was sitting right behind Caleb Fuller's dad.Oldlknapp wrote: ↑Thu Feb 01, 2018 9:37 amActually I was proud of the way we played in that 2015 game. Re: Clemson 2024
Lamb threw three picks in six offensive plays. After that, it was over.
More importantly, he stayed in the rest of the game and built his confidence back up, which was key for the remaining 11 games, of which we went 10-1.
Wyoming and Akron still have their games with us on their future schedules.

Perhaps this is just me, but I didn't get excited about the announcement of this game.
This shows me how far our program has come.

Re: Clemson 2024
I wish we would start scheduling more money games with weaker P5s. Why do we play the class of the SEC or ACC and even B1G? Why not play the Vandy's or South Carolina's? The Nebraska's and Iowa States?
They probably wouldn't give us as much money, but a win against this kind of program can go a long way especially since Iowa State loves to poach our recruits.

I know I'm going to get the "tease" label but we've got a lot more cooking. You'll find out soon enough and most everyone (laughed out loud when I first typed everyone without the "most" since someone one on here will always complain) will be happy. Just give it a little time. Things will come out soon enough.

Re: Clemson 2024
Sorry. It was tough to post but I saw the direction it was headed and I just wanted to let people know that DG and the gang are hard at work trying to get some things done. But since nothing is true until ink is on paper just can't say anything more.

Re: Clemson 2024
I read this and my honest thought was "43 seems pretty far away. Not old, exactly, but up there." And then ten seconds later I realized that I'll be 41.
Here's to getting better with age.

I wouldn't be sitting here posting if I was. He and the rest of the staff are too busy.
