As pointed out in another thread, Akron did OK in the schedule change. They get $1.3 for traveling to Kentucky and get a home game out of the deal as well. Their second trip to Lexington only nets $250,000. I guess one could calculate that at $750,000 a trip. But, they don't have to pay UK for the trip to Akron.

Did we get a buyout from Akron?

Anybody know what the difference in traveling costs, say to Wake Forest vs Texas A&M would be? Not factoring in possible payouts, just costs. And the number traveling?
So do you mean a bus trip versus a plane trip? Bus would be cheaper I imagine but by how much, I don’t know.

Aware that bus travel would be cheaper. Equipment truck, flight, hotel rooms, meals can be quite expensive and just wondering what the net profit would be for the game?

A&M fans must not realize this means they will be a playoff team in 2022 as the recent trend has shown

Please correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't there 2 games referenced in the other thread?

1. There was the original tweet from FireMoose that spawned the thread
2. Either late last night or this morning he mentioned another game.

Again I could be confused or getting something wrong here...if not though, then who is the other team.

From a Mountaineer in Dallas I can't wait for this game!!

Eric - shutup.

This is a bucket list stadium, if you get a chance to play at the horseshoe, big house, rose bowl, home of the 12th man, etc. you do it.

Great job Doug and Co.

What you said. Especially the first part.

I can tell you from experience that Kyle Field provides an awesome game day experience. If you get a chance, you should definitely make the trip.

This is great!

If we plan to get better, be more of a national player and hope to get a NY6, we have to have a strong OOC schedule. We should expect that in 4 yrs we will continue to build our program to top 25 status. That should be our goal. I know it is mine and I think most of the fans, coaches and players feel the same. We will never sniff NY6 without having some top 25 teams on our schedule and winning those games. Incoming players want to play at the highest level.

Wasn’t trying to be snarky with my comments. Genuinely would be interested to know. I assumed that you were using specific destinations for reference but just wanted to clarify.

This announcement doesn't have anything to do with the possible reason why the ECU game was moved and any potential game that might come from the move to our schedule in 2025. I gave a pretty clear heads up that an announcement was coming today but it didn't have anything to do with the reasons for the ECU thread. I didn't want to start another thread titled "possible announcement coming this morning about another game we've been working on". The other possible team/game regarding the ECU thread has not been and will not be mentioned until the ink is on paper.

And we're working on other things as well and those are in various stages of discussions at this time. Each one will come out when it's done, as Clemson and A&M did.

Have some friends they are big South Carolina fans and they have gone to A&M every time USC has played out there because they say it’s the best. I look forward to experiencing it myself.

No sir. I know you weren't trying to be snarky. I would be very interested to know the cost between a close bus trip and a medium to lengthy plane trip. I like to approach things with an open mind and evaluate based on factual information. However I realize that the ones that are privy to this type of info may not be the ones posting on this board and if they are may be reluctant to reveal too much financial information.

Ok. I am the same way with information. I know people take things the wrong way in text and wanted to make my intentions clear. I am interested in all the financials around game day as well.

Welp, I expect Jimbo will have them in CFP contention by the time this season rolls around.

In all seriousness, I am excited about this one. AS others have said, bucketlist stadium. And the last few years at least I think we could've given them a decent game

I would imagine the cost will be roughly the same for all the games that require air travel.
