Robert
Does anyone on this board that was at Appalachian in the 70's remember Robert? The old mountain man that sat on the wall outside the student union and sang and talked to students as they walked by? He was like a regular part of my day. Always wore a wool plaid cap and denim overalls. Also curious if any one here knows or knows of Eustis Conway. Google him. Pretty interesting.

Re: Robert
Robert was just a little before my time, but I've seen Eustace Conway in the Boone Lowes a couple times in the past year.

Re: Robert
Robert also played the harmonica. Not very well though. Conway I believe lived in a big teepee somewhere out of Boone he built himself and subsisted on
roadkill. Can you imagine living in a teepee year round in Boone?

Re: Robert
You should try living with my wife....teepee year round is like the Waldorf Astoria compared to that. Side note...my next living arrangements might be a teepee if Mrs. BeerHatGuy reads this!

Re: Robert
Didn't know Robert as he was before my time.
Eustace was originally from Gastonia and lived down the street from a friend of mine when he was a kid. My buddy was friends with his younger brother, I believe.
I was neighbors with Joshua and OT in 98/99. They lived in tents in the woods by my house on Deck Hill. OT used to try and crash our parties.

Re: Robert
There used to be this guy, years past, called Bugger Odom. He lived at that first sharp curve heading up to Howard's Knob on Junaluska Road. He lived in a one room cabin, however, his family (sister) lived in a nice house next to his cabin. As a kid I remember him walking to town, long hair and a "zz top beard", pretty crazy for the 60s (maybe). Anyway, after he passed I heard he had a masters degree and had a lot of money/wealth. I guess he just stopped worrying about what people thought and was just messing with their heads. lol

Re: Robert
I believe so. Will look at all mine to see. Hope to see a picture of him. Yes, his name was Robert Bradshaw.
