App and South Carolina Schedule Series
Here's the one that's been hinted at for a WHILE and the one we moved the ECU 2025 home game for.

Awesome. A two for one isn't a bad deal with an SEC school with an 80k plus stadium. We are going to need some more seats in KBS.

Another homerun from our athletic department. I gripe about the little stuff quite a bit, but man we’ve got a dang all star staff behind the scenes that continually impress the hell out of me.

Already getting texts from my SCAR friends. What a huge get by DG and company. Let's hope the Cox follow through and don't treat App like EZU.

Re: App and South Carolina Schedule Series
SWEET!!! Another excellent deal from DG. Another marquee game in Boone, a drive-able road game in a big time stadium vs an SEC team, a regional game, could help with recruiting, potentially a winnable game. Everything about this is good.

Of course they do this right before the athletics BOT committee meeting...

Re: App and South Carolina Schedule Series
Slow down now. Let's not get ahead of ourselves. Until we can sell out Gardner Webb we should not consider expansion. 24k and a grass hill will suite fine for UNC, ECU, and USC.
Sorry I couldn't help it. Great job DG!!!!!

Re: App and South Carolina Schedule Series
We were able to convince WFU and UNC after Miami agreed. Hopefully this will open doors for more SEC opportunities. No reason why UK or Vandy would now not consider, other than they are scared.

I like the November date down in Columbia much better than August or September. Hopefully the 2nd game will be at a similar point on the calendar.

That's predictable and to some degree understandable. Some fans think playing a strong mid-major has drawbacks, and a few are clueless loudmouths. One well informed Gamecock fan compared us to Wofford and SC State, and another said SC shouldn't be playing FCS teams.

That's nothing compared to the message boards when we beat their asses next year!

I was at the game last time we played down in Columbia. If memory serves they barely beat us. We were happy but those Gamecock fans were unbearable.

The next several years are loaded up now with OOC match ups. The next few seasons could be very sweet or completely brutal. BUT, if we want to compete for a New Years 6 game ever. We will have lots of opportunity on the way. Give'em Hell App!

Re: App and South Carolina Schedule Series
1. I first want to applaud DG and company for setting this game up, as well as many others he has been able to attract.
2. I don't think 2018 and 2019 schedules are strong enough for NY6 bowl. While it has gotten better, our conference is not one that voters will respect when it comes to the polls. Just like the argument was always made a 1 loss SEC team deserved BCS over others, I'm sure they will look and say the same about more successful and proven G5 conferences. One day. One day. SunBelt will get love.

Re: App and South Carolina Schedule Series
My experience has always been that the fans of high caliber programs don’t seem to give two shits about playing us. They are blue chip schools and they expect to stomp us and move on.
The fan bases that writhe over their prestige and how they shouldn’t play us and blah blah blah usually are insecure and haven’t won a damn thing but somehow think they are special. I get pleasure out of watching them convince themselves that playing us will hurt their chances at the national championship they haven’t won nor are in contention for.
