Re: App vs Davidson
Last season it felt like opposing defenses could just collapse around Shabazz and we’d be forced into poor shot selections. With Forest out there now, we’ve got a couple legit threats on the perimeter. Hopefully we can replicate this strong play against vcu.

Great win, couldn’t watch but it sounds like the D was better, which has been the prob so far this year.

Re: App vs Davidson
Again, I thought this was the best I’d seen an app b-ball team play in years, but did anyone else feel like Davidson just wasn’t into it? I’m not taking anything away from our guys’ victory. We completely demolished the cats. I just don’t remember seeing a Davidson team that was this inefficient and maybe even somewhat gassed, although I think they have most of the same personnel as last year since Gibbs didn’t play against us

It was great for the players and you've gotta believe that Fox went to sleep last night with a big smile on his face beating his mentor after all the struggles he's gone through. Great job Mr. Fox!

Re: App vs Davidson
Fox said last night postgame he made sure the players were miserable post-JMU and they responded.
That's a top 100 RPI win right there. There's a chance for another one on Tuesday at VCU.

Re: App vs Davidson
The Siegel Center is never an easy place to play but this VCU squad is not the team of the past several years. They are good but I think beatable if we can find the stuff we employed last night.

Re: App vs Davidson
Shabazz is shooting noticeably better then last season. He’s at 39% from 3 which is a noticeable improvement for him. More impressive perhaps considering the range on some of his shots :p

Fun day yesterday. App FB win in Atlanta and listening to App BB beat Davidson on TuneIn during the ride back to NC.

Re: App vs Davidson
Dude, EVERYTHING was better! I saw good free throw shooting, fewer turnovers, great rebounding, better defense, confident shooting, you name it, all better than anything I've seen in the last several years.

Re: App vs Davidson
Certainly a great win for the still-young Apps. This team will win some more big games. The troubling sour note that stands out for me is that Fox, very frankly, is limited to a seven or eight man rotation for extended minutes against good teams. Foul trouble will not be our friend and will cause us some tough losses--especially on the road.
Nonetheless, I'm encouraged about the future. Hunter Seacat becomes eligible in two or three weeks and Joe Battle and Mike Bibby are waiting in the wings for next season. Thumbs up!

If it happens to the Apps, it happens to me!

Re: App vs Davidson
Great win! Have to admit, was worried a little after the Western Michigan game, but that was just a hiccup on our season I am praying. (OK Never mind JMU with the horseshoe up their arse for that 2OT game). The Davidson game was great to watch and a great win Saturday. Now we have a better feeling on the season! Beat VCU Tuesday please! I promise we will be there in Boone for the South Florida BBALL game Saturday after Mountaineer Football beats U-LA-LA and clinches consecutive conference championship!!!
Give Em Hell!!

Re: App vs Davidson
The Davidson of November was a much different team than the one post-January. The team that came to Boone wasn't a good shooting team and was scared to drive into the paint. The one we just saw was fearless and had leadership.

Those Davidson coaches know how to develop players. . . Hey, wait a tick . . .
That's what I do. I gripe and I know things.

Re: App vs Davidson
Just one man's opinion here, but several of our players -- Griffin Kinney, Craig Hinton, Isaac Johnson and Tyrell Johnson -- have shown significant improvement since the start of their college careers, or, in the case of O'Showen WIlliams, since the start of the season.
