I only thought there were 129 teams in FBS. Maybe, and call me crazy for suggesting this, but maybe Massey is also including FCS teams as well. Just a thought.
Perhaps, or is it that OS is excluding FCS teams?
I had not thought to look at it that way?
Mind Blown

OS is consistent in that he over rates the schools you listed. Would there be 26 FCS teams in front of AState. That seems a bit high of a number, though I am sure the top FCS is coming in higher than 64 out of 250 or so teams. I don't see that many FCS teams pushing that high. For every NDSU there is a whole conference of Davidson level teams.
This is an interesting point about 26 FCS above StAte. I personally don't think more than a handful of FCS teams, 5-6 could consistently win against StAte. If that is indeed true Massey is definitely out of whack. I am saying Massey is wrong in that regard.

I could be mistaken but I don't think that's what he's saying. I think the point was that FCS teams being included in the Massey rankings isn't the only difference between the two lists.

I don't know why the people doing these rankings are so fixated on ranking the MAC higher than they deserve. I just don't see any justification for having Toledo higher than either Troy or App.
The Belt has owned the MAC for the last few years. I wish the media would figure that out.

Me either. It can't be justified.
